Bhanu Shah was born on January 5, 1935, in Ahmedabad and graduated in Fine Arts as well as gained a Post-graduate diploma in Museology from M S University, Baroda.
In college, he used to paint beautiful landscapes, which seemingly empowered him by expressing himself strongly. He has held solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. His creations, and his collection can be appreciated at the Kite Museum, Ahmedabad, which has given him worldwide recognition. He has been the director and designer for the Kite Museum. His art kites exhibitions have taken place in USA, France, Jodhpur, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, and he himself has attended more than 21 International Kite Festivals in France, UK, Thailand, Dubai and India. He lives and works in Ahmedabad.
