Collector’s NoteSometimes when one embarks on a passionate journey sincerely, the universe also supports and facilitates. This is what I experienced while searching for missing links on my journey to chronicle and understand the portrait scenario in India, from the beginning to the current times.One day a scrap dealer came to me with a Mughal Muraqqa which was in a very worn-out condition. The so called album was not properly preserved and thus had loose pages and pages crumpled from the center as well. I was confused whether I should buy the same or not, as I knew it was a rare album and I also did not possess a lot of Mughal portraits. However the condition of the album was such that I wasn’t sure whether it could be reinstated to its former 5
