Amir Dost Mohammad Khan Barakzai was one of the prominent rulers of Afghanistan. During the Anglo Sikh war he supported the Sikhs and even sent a contingent of 1500 horses to Chatar Singh, the leader of Sikh resistance against the British. However later he reversed his former policy by concluding an offensive & defensive alliance with the British government. However after his defeat in 1849 war, he led his troops back to Afghanistan.
