Dost Mohammed Khan (1793 – 1863)

Ruler of Afghanistan. During the second Anglo Sikh war he supported the Sikhs and even sent a contingent of 1500 horses to Chatar Singh leader of Sikh resistance against the British. However later he reversed his former policy by concluding an offensive & defensive alliance with the British government.
