Chhaganlal Thakordas Modi (1857 – 1947)
They are the sons of Thakordas Balmukunddas Modi, a reputed philantropher. They supported in opening the MTB Arts College, Surat in 1918. Maganlal also initiated the first hot metal Gujarati type foundry and was awarded CIE while Chhaganlal was honoured with a silver medal by the Gaekwad after he retired.
